“We are here to make pen-based data entry the standard interface for every EMR.” – Chris Joyce, Founder and President.
Logical Progression Releases Logical Ink 3.0

Includes Improved User Interface, New Web Portal and Support for Motion C5

Cary, NC, April. 04, 2008 – Logical Progression, a software company specializing in tablet PC healthcare solutions, announced today the release of version 3.0 of its electronic charting solution, Logical Ink®.

Logical Ink® creates an electronic chart based on an HL7 feed from the hospital information system (HIS) and provides a natural, pen and paper interface for data collection via digital ink and handwriting recognition.  Forms completed on the tablet are validated and sent to the EMR seamlessly.  Logical Ink helps hospitals go paperless and embrace mobility for applications like bedside registration.

Version 3.0 of Logical Ink includes a revamped user interface, improved networking to enhance reliability in limited wireless environments, a brand new web portal, and support for the Motion C5 Clinical Assistant.

“We’re committed to delivering elegant and intuitive user experiences and Microsoft's .NET 3.5 Framework presentation technology gives us greater flexibility," says Mike Underhill, Chief Technologist for Logical Progression.  “People come to us because they want a solution that truly embraces the tablet and our software can adapt to all shapes and sizes of mobile devices more easily with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)."

Logical Ink's new web portal provides a dashboad for users to manage form packets, view a HIPAA-compliant audit trail, view a chart's status and easily resend images to the EMR/Imaging system.  The software also supports the Motion C5 Clinical Assistant.  Users can quickly pull up a patient's chart by scanning their armband using the C5's built-in barcode reader.  They can also annotate images directly in their chart via the built-in camera.  "As a Motion Alliance Partner, we're delighted to support the C5 because it is the first tablet designed specifically for healthcare clinicians," says Chris Joyce, Founder and President of Logical Progression.  "Our customers want a clinical appliance - not just a laptop with pen input.  We hope this is a sign of better things to come from tablet manufacturers."
